Christmas Lust List: Luxury Beauty Gift Guide

I don't know about you, but the best presents are always the things I want, not the things I need. So over the next few weeks I am going to be putting together a themed lust list every week.

Around Christmas time luxury beauty brands really show us their best work. Special collections, beautiful palettes, one offs and artfully created packaging. And this stuff sells out fast, which is why my first festive lust list is a collection of some of my favourite luxury beauty buys this festive season.

Something you may not know about me - I first came to live in London when I was 18. I was taking a gap year (you may read that gaap yaaar if you like) and ended up at Selfridges, working for some of the best beauty brands in the world. It was a wonderful experience - I learned so much about makeup and I got to work with a ridiculous and fabulous bunch of out of work performers who made standing on your feet for hours at a time just fly by. It also left me with an unquenchable thirst for high end beauty products. So, without further ado, here are the luxury beauty items I would most like to find under my tree on the 25th..

One of my favourite things about Dior is their gorgeous packaging. That gleaming golden orb! And their State of Gold Christmas collection is as magical as you would imagine. The lipsticks are encased in gorgeous, gold, iconic tubes and I think the Troublante and Fabuleuse shades would be wearable all year round. The Christmas nail colours are beautifully presented and the shades are lovely. My favourites are State of Gold, Passion and Gris Or.

Sterling Nights Eye Palette - Bobbi Brown

I love a good eye shadow palette, but often I find they are a bit unwieldy and difficult to cart around. Also, I usually only like about half the colours. That is not the case with this beautiful palette. All the colours are right up my alley - beautiful minks and grays and browns - and it's a sensible size. Plus it's got a good mix of everyday and sparkly.I could get a fabulous smokey eye out of this!

God I love nail polish. Anyone who follows my Instagram will know this - I paint my nails about 3 times a week. The closer we get to Christmas the sparklier I get, and so I eagerly await the release of of the Christmas collections. It's such an easy way to update your look, and immediately make you feel more festive. This year I am loving OPI's Festive offering - the Starlight Collection. My two favourite shades are Ce-Less-Tial is More - a pinky glitter that will work for day and night, and Ro-Man-Ce on the Moon a shimmer shot red.

I am a Mac obsessive. I have more Mac makeup than a girl who is not actually a makeup artist should really admit to. But I could always do with a little more. But this Christmas I have my eye on this Essentials brush kit, in a handy little clutch. This is a great set for contouring and eyeshadow. I am starting to learn how to contour, so these are great. The set includes a large angled contour brush, a small cheek brush, mini tapered blending brush, eye shading brush and pencil brush. All of that for £45 is an insane bargain! I really hope I find one of these kits in my stocking!

Urban Spectrum Palette - Urban Decay

The Bobbi Brown palette was glam and practical. And this one is just fabulous! I love Urban Decay shadows (I have two of the Naked palettes, and four others) because they are beautifully pigmented and creamy and go on with ease. Also, despite the brightness of these colours, I actually think I would get a lot of use out of most of these shades.

So, any of this tickle your fancy? What's on your beauty lust list? Let me know in the comments...
