Serving Up 70s Realness: Pink Clove Gia Tie Neck Dress

Plus Size Tights - Primark
14 Hole Teal Dr Martens - eBay

I have been in love with this dress since I first saw it come down the runway at Curvy Fashion Fest in September. I love Pink Clove for their unusual prints (I adored the print of this Bardot dress I reviewed earlier this year) and their refreshing take on day dresses, as well as the way they interpret and restyle key trends each season for the plus size market. This 70s tribute dress is absolutely gorgeous, so I was so pleased when I was offered it to review.

With its chintzy floral print, this Gia Tie Neck Dress is bang on trend. The bishop sleeves, print and neck tie are all super seventies, and this dress is made of a thin jersey so it will see you right through Spring (and 70s is still going to be big this Spring/Summer). One of the reasons I was drawn to this dress was the colours. The print is a cool, mossy collection of greens, mauves, purples and blues in such beautiful hues. It's such a lovely antidote to the browns, reds and oranges that usually dominate this time of year.

I ordered this in my usual size 22 and the fit is spot on. The waist is elasticated, which is comfortable and folds over so it is very easy to wear and extremely flattering. The hem sits quite a bit above my knee (I am 5'8) which I am comfortable with, especially in tights. And the sleeves are comfortable on my arms - and because they are elasticated at the wrist, this shouldn't be a problem for those shorter than me. I tied the tie in a bow here, but I think I might just tie it in a knot in the future.

I really like Pink Clove because they make affordable, easy to wear fashion. Every season they tap into a couple of key trends, so adding a couple of Pink Clove items to your wardrobe can immediately update your look for very little. And woohoo, they have free UK delivery (and the deliver world wide) .

Have you got any pieces from Pink Clove? What do you think of the 70s trend? How are you incorporating it into your wardrobe? Let me know!
