My Favourite Outfits from 2015: A Round Up

The year is very nearly out, and so I thought I would do a little round up of my favourite pieces of the year. So below are my eight favourite pieces from this year, from brands including Voodoo Vixen, Scarlett & Jo, Panache, Simply Be, Studio 8, Lady Voluptuous and Lindy Bop, and a little bit about why I love them so much. My Best of 2015...

1. My Green Lana

If you've been reading for a while, you will know I absolutely adore Lindy Bop's Lana dresses. They are excellently priced, at £30, have a beautiful vintage shape with a full skirt and demure neckline, and are available in a range of colour ways and patterns. I know own six Lanas, with a seventh on the way. But due to my penchant for green, this may well be my favourite. Other reviews here and here.

2. The Lady Voluptuous Lyra in Teal

Ah, 2015 was the year that brought us our very own dedicated plus size brand - Lady Voluptuous from Lady Vintage London. I have a closet full of their beautiful dresses I am happy to say, but the very first one I ordered was this lovely Lyra in teal, and I have to be honest I think she is my very favourite still. Lyra is so versatile - she can be worn to work, or out, or to the shops. Dresses up or dressed down. Mine are all worn often and well loved. Other Lady Voluptuous reviews here

3. La Dolce Vita Tea Dress from Scarlett & Jo

This beautiful red floral dress was very first purchase from Scarlett & Jo - and my love of this little brand has pretty much grown exponentially from there. In fact I am now a brand ambassador for them, which is really exciting. I chose this dress because I think it is the perfect example of what Scarlett & Jo do really well. Vintage inspired wear, cut beautifully for fuller figures, with lush, high quality fabrics. I adore the little details that adorn Scarlett & Jo designs - like the little peephole at the neckline of this dress. Lovely. Read more Scarlett & Jo reviews here and here

4. My Purple Kali Babydoll from Panache

This babydoll is absolutely stunning - the colour, the design, the embellishments. I adore it. And it will always have a very special place in my heart, as it is the first piece of lingerie I have ever found that is comfortable, supportive and sexy. And of course the Kali was my first ever proper lingerie review too. I do have a great adoration for all things Panache, and you can read more reviews here

5. My Turquoise Tilly Dress from Voodoo Vixen

Another one of my absolute favourite vintage brands is Voodoo Vixen, who reproduce some of their collection in  Their vintage reproductions are always exciting and unusual, the fabrics, unique. It's hard to choose a favourite of my Voodoo Vixen dresses, but the Tilly is unlike anything else I own and I adore it! The shades are so pretty and summery, and I love the shirt detailed neckline. 6. This Green Velvet Fishtail Maxi Dress from Scartlett & Jo

No round up of the year would be complete without this dress. I first wore a Scarlett & Jo velvet maxi on the catwalk at Style XL, and then got to be photographed in one for the new website. So I was absolutely thrilled when one arrived from the team - one of my very own! When I put it on I immediately feel somewhat goddess-like, or like I should be standing on a smokey stage singing sultry tunes or draped across a piano. (Ah, my endless delusions of grandeur and super stardom).

7. This Leopard Print Fierceness from Simply Be

My first fitted dress, I had to add this to my round up of the year. The leopard print makes me feel fierce and sexy, and I love the fact that it accentuates my shape (and also that I am okay with something accentuating my shape. I loved the cut of this dress so much that I bought another one from Simply Be in blue velvet for the festive season.. Read the review here

8. My Green Lace Yvette Dress from Studio 8.

From the moment I lay eyes on this dress, I was in love. At the Studio 8 launch, I was blown away by the beautiful high end offering this brand had put together. And I just could not get this vintage inspired green lace beauty out of my head. It is everything I love in a dress, and I have to be honest, I still think it is the most beautiful dress I have ever worn, and I can't wait to see what else this brand might bring us in the coming year.

So that's it. My favourite pieces from 2015. Some wonderful brands and beautiful clothes... I can't wait to see what Spring/Summer 2016 might bring us. So what have your fashion highlights been this year? What have you loved wearing?
