Since their launch last year, I have been a big fan of Lady Voluptuous, the plus size brand from Lady Vintage London. The joy of this brand is that for their key designs they worked with plus size blogger and super babe Georgina from Fuller Figure Fuller Bust, who knows what we bigger ladies love and what we look for in the perfect pin up dress. Their Lyra is pretty much my favourite every day dress , which I wear all the time. But I love the Phoebe style for its gorgeous pin up shape and bold patterns.

For the colder months Lady Voluptuous brought out a winter version of the original Phoebe (which I reviewed here). My first review of the original dress was a rave one, and nothing much has changed. For me Phoebe is just the perfect pin up party dress. Lady V produce in her in bright, showstopping patterns. She has a lovely nipped in shape, thanks to a panel of fabric added at the waist. The skirt is full, with a built in petticoat, which means the skirt stands out most beautifully, perfect for twirling.
Lady V have added longer sleeves for their winter version. I love a three quarter sleeve for winter. Gives that little bit more coverage without the overheating factor of a full sleeve (I am usually several degrees warmer than I should be). They have also given it a full back (which I am not sure was necessary) where on the previous version the back was cut in a V shape. I supposed for those chillier among us that will be a useful feature.
As with my previous Phoebe dress, I ordered this in a size 22/24 (where my Lyras are all a size 20, and I am usually a 22). This style does come up small, so I always recommend sizing up, which makes for a comfortable fit. The skirt sits just over my knee (on my 5'8 frame) which I find to be the perfect length, but I know some ladies like their pinup style longer. The rounded neckline is demure, and I wouldn't mind if it was cut a little bit lower if I am honest (but then maybe that says more about me than anything else!).
I just adore this pattern. I often find that when brands bring out winter styles they go with more muted colours, but I love this style as the colours are bold and bright. The pattern features a an old English rose, in beautiful royal blue with yellow corolla and green leaves on a navy background. It gives a great range of colours for accessorising. Here I chose to go with navy shoes, and a double yellow rose hair piece from Daisy Jean Floral (who I LOVE by the way - you can order from them on Etsy) and some yellow earrings. Sometimes I add a belt as well, but I like the fact that I do feel I need to.
So the gist of all of this is that I love this dress. It is party perfect - really makes me feel dressed up and gorgeous and fancy all at the same time. Do you own a Phoebe? What's your favourite party dress? Let me know below...
