Cracking Kingfisher: Elomi Anoushka Half Cup Paddded Bra in Kingfisher

I love it when firm favourite styles are released in alternate colourways at the start of a new season. The minute I saw Elomi’s latest vibrant Kingfisher colourway for their Anoushka style I wanted it! This fresh take gives a new lease on life to an old favourite, with an instant update.

I had previously tried the Anoushka babydoll in the red and black colourway and found the bra section comfortable and supportive. The red and black of the babydoll were perfect for the boudoir – sexy yet sophisticated. But I absolutely adore the Kingfisher’s zesty colour combination of turquoise and lime – a vibrant summer explosion of awesomeness. By updating the colours the bra (with its antique styled lace) has actually taken on a really modern, fresh vibe.

The cup has a lime base, with a turquoise stretch lace overlay. The padded cups are edged with a delicate lace border which sits flat against the breast (if the fit is right). There is a lime and turquoise bows at the central gore, the  The cup is made of a three part construction, which gives the breasts a lovely round shape. The bra section fastens at the back with three hooks and eyes.

The Anoushka Kingfisher is fun and fresh, but still supportive and comfortable – showing that it is possible to make young, fashion forward lingerie for plus size and larger cups. As with the babydoll I am wearing the 40FF, and the fit is still perfect. The band is snug but comfortable, and my breasts completely fill the cups (after a bit of swooping and scooping) with the central gore sitting flat against my breast bone. The cups give me a great rounded shape, and some lift. So despite my boobs being more empty towards the top, they look full in this bra. I opted for the half cup padded version, but the Anoushka also comes in a plunge style (check out the lovely Kitty Rambles in it here), and with matching briefs.
