Fringe Benefits: Simply Be Black Side Fringe Dress

I am really drawn to casual black at the moment. When there's a lot going on (as there currently is) then throwing one something black and comfortable can help you feel effortlessly chic when you've not had much time to think about what to wear.

**Big shout out to my beloved blog wife Lottie L'amour, for taking these pics of me with her sparkly new camera. What a babe! Go check her out! **

When I saw this Black Side Fringe Dress from Simply Be, I loved its casual take on the fringing that you're going to find everywhere this season. This straight cut, tunic style dress is perfect to throw over leggings, although here I decided to pop it on with nude fishnet tights (they are perfect for in between weather). I paired the fishnets and tunic dress with my cherry red 8 hole Dr Martens, which gave the whole look a bit of a grungy feel. I finished off with a long statement necklace that I bought at Primark a few years ago, and a leather satchel I got at a market.

To get the loose, comfy feeling I was looking for I sized up to a 24. The overall fit is great, but the arm holes are a bit snug (dammit! When will this stop being such a problem for plus size) so I actually undid the seam a bit. Granted my arms are chunkier than most, but still, can't we elasticate them or something? Overall though, I am happy with the quality and the fit. I don't have enough in my wardrobe that I can just thrown on for easy wearing, so this is going to be a great addition to my transitional wardrobe.

What trends are you drawn to this AW? Are you loving the fringe look? Have you seen something in Simply Be that you're coveting? Let me know...

One last little favour! I have been nominated for Best Plus Size Blog at the British Plus Size Awards. Voting ends Friday, 9th September, so please! Vote for me now!
