My Month in Outfis: What I Wore in September

September was a bit all over the map weather wise. We had some scorchers, and a fair bit of rain too. And with Curve Fashion Festival, a wedding, and the Evans #IamMe awards I had a few different occasions to dress up for, so here's what I wore in September...

Multicoloured raffia block heels - Debenhams (last season)

I feel like I have just discovered Boohoo Plus. I know it's been there for a while, but for some reason I never really paid much attention to it. But lately I just keep finding piece after piece I adore. I am all about black at the moment, and this shift dress has a boho feel, with its relaxed fit and tassels but also shows a lot of leg - making me feel a bit sexy. Was perfect during the mid September heat wave. And I'm looking forward to getting some use out of it in the Caribbean next month!

Glasses Print Dress - Voodoo Vixen (no longer available)

I love this dress - yet another example of Voodoo Vixen's unusual and fun designs. Certain dresses just don't get as much wear as they should, and this is one of them. As soon as I put it on I was like "Why the hell haven't I worn this in ages?!" But the Connie dress is an example of why I love the pinup style so much - it can be cute, sexy and fun, and always feminine. I did a full review of this beauty here

As the summer draws to a close, I am always excited to get my boots back out again. Went for a grungy look with this fringed dress from Simply Be, and my beloved Dr Martens. You can read a full review here.

Hair flowers - Accessorize

I used to live in jeans, but since going up a few dress sizes a couple of years ago I've found a good fit harder and harder to find. Enter Studio 8's incredible Maddy dreams. I have a full post coming about these babies soon, but I love how much they've opened up my wardrobe. Here I paired them with this wonderfully bright shirt I have coveted since the first moment I saw it on Boohoo. I love the happy, colourful print, light fabric perfect for layering and 3/4 sleeves. Yay, a casual look I like!

Black Wide Fit Mary Jane Shoes - Primark

I did a full review of this beauty last week and everything I have to say about it is captured here. But in a nutshell this dress is a perfect blend of modern and vintage, and is demure yet sexy, is perfectly cut for curves, and made me feel like a babe all day. Nuff said!

Black Mary Jane Wide Fit Flats - Primark

I wrote a review of this gorgeous studio 8 dress earlier this month. I am absolutely in love with the unusual pattern and the purples. Such a perfect transitional dress, and a beautiful statement piece. When I wore this at Curve Fashion Festival I was stopped all over the hall by women wanting to know where I'd got my dress. It was so great to be able to direct them to their very own at Studio 8's stand. I love pieces like that - the kind that make people stop you to find out where from!

This dress is a total floaty goddess dream. My beautiful Lottie L'amour spotted this on the Evans website and messaged me right away to say she's found a "Hayley dress". That girl knows me well! I've not tried Little Mistress before but if this dress is anything to go by I can't wait to see more. Featuring a Grecian design, the gathered bodice is super flattering on big busts. I went for my usual 22, and in hindsight could probably have sized down to a 20 in this style thanks to an elasticated back. On my 5'8 (plus heels) it was the perfect length and did really give me some underwater goddess vibes. I wore this to the Evans #IamMe awards (an amazing evening, filled with inspirational women) and felt like a siren. Yes! Love those vibes!

What did you get up to and wear in September? I post all my outfits on Instagram, so if you wanna see more of me fannying about in my everyday vibes give me a follow - I'm @curvesncurlsuk and you can follow me here.

  2. You have such great style! I love the Voodoo Vixen print, so fun and different, and you know I love the Jameela Jamil dress too! I think my fave is the side fringe dress/boots combo though, it's different for you and I love it!
