My Month in Outfis: What I Wore in February

I really enjoy doing these monthly round ups. It inspires me to keep enjoying my wardrobe and be creative with the outfits I put together, and I think it's also important to see how new items can be incorporated into your existing wardrobe because sometimes with bloggers I think it can look like we have a new wardrobe every month. While I am lucky to have a vast wardrobe, with more new garments than most, I still really love to wear my favourites, whether they are a month old or a decade. So, here's what I was wearing in February (with again the reminder that I am not working at the moment so most of the time I don't get dressed!)...

Lemon Embroidered Cardigan - Collectif Clothing (old)
Black Suede Mary Jane Shoes - Primark (old)

I love a polkadot, and this little 40s number from Joanie Clothing is super cute, with it's pussy bow and tea length. It's also one of those dresses that works for a myriad of occasions - would totally work at work, for an afternoon event, and it's really cute for a date. The pussy bow is also detachable, so you have the option of wearing it as a plain V-neck. This dress is currently on the Joanie website at half price (£17.50) which is excellent value, and is available up to a size 26. Sadly Joanie has stopped doing plus size runs, so we can only hope to convince them to pick them again in the near future!
My tights are from the wonderful Big Tights Company, and the fit is fabulous - they come up nice and high too. The colour is described as Caramel, but I would definitely call it more of a mustard (paired with my ketchup red dress I look like a cute hotdog!) and for £5.95 I think they are super reasonably priced. Plus, the service from Big Tights Company is always impeccable.

Cerise Vest - ASOS Curve (sold out)

I reviewed this wonderfully romantic outfit earlier in the month (see here) and I am still totally in love with this look and all about pink! And this bag is amazingly huge and I am now toting it everywhere because the colour is so on trend and I can get everything into it.

Cut for Evans Denim Tiered Dress - Evans

This dress is from last year's Cut for Evans collection, and I still love it. Folky and cute, it works well all year round. I wore it here (cinched with a tan leather belt from Asos Curve) to a Friday night at the movies. And last week I had a sneak peak of the new Cut for Evans collection (to be launched soon) and this time they have gone made for illustrated patterns. Another totally awesome collection. Here's a sneak peak for you:

The other colour I am absolutely nuts about at the moment is yellow. I can't get enough of it, but I don't seem to be able to find that much of it so I was so pleased when I found this buttercup beauty on the M&Co website. This jumper is currently 50% off, so it's a steal, but if I was you I would size up (I wish I had) because it's a bit on the small side and in my knitwear I quite like a relaxed fit. Perfect for a casual look with jeans (these are my skinnies from Evans, and I love the fit) and I paired with these gorgeous flats (I wore them a lot this month) also from M&Co.

Belt - eBay

This rather wonderful dress is a bit of a departure for me - I usually gravitate towards floral patterns, but this modern geometric print was just too fresh and bright to pass up. I wrote a full review all about it here.

Red Cardigan with Embroidered Swallows - Collectif (no longer in stock)
Waist Belt - Primark (old)

I spent the day at the London Edge Trade Show in February. It's a trade show that showcases alternative fashion, a lot of which is my very favourite look - pin up! So I got to dress up in one of my beloved Collectif Dolores Doll dresses (you can see my ode to them here) and flounce about in a petticoat and polkadots for a few hours.

This casual look is a little sporty, a little trendy and totally comfortable! I kinda want to wear it all the time, and it's super easy to recreate (it has already inspired a couple of copy cat looks, which is awesome because imitation truly is the sincerest form of flattery!). You can read my full review here.

What are you wearing at the moment? What's your favourite look? What would you like to see more of? Let me know...

  2. I really need to try some tights from Big Tights, everyone raves about them! I think my fave is the casual striped dress and denim jacket dress, it's not 'classic' Hayley', but at the same time it's still so very you
