Love Lobsters: Collectif Lobster Swing Dress

Cute print - check! Good fit - check!  Summer vibes - check! These little lobsters from Collectif are going to be one of my summer favourites, I can tell.

It's no secret that Collectif is one of my favourite brands for seriously cute vintage inspired fashion, and every summer they BRING IT with the absolute best summery prints. This year is no different and from the moment I saw these lobsters I wanted them on my body! 

I tend to revisit my favourite Collectif styles season in, season out (hello - I have a million Dolores Doll dresses!). There were a few gorgeous lobster themed dresses, but I was most drawn to the Sandrine. The Sandrine is a swing dress - my go to vintage style because they usually look great on my boobies and flare out over my tummy. The Sandrine has faux button up detail to the front of the dress, which is cute but has the bonus of not gaping. The dress has pockets (yay) with red turnovers, a low neckline, and thick shoulder straps mean you can easily tuck your bra away. 

I am wearing my usual 22, which is a little snug (I always find this the case with Collectif) but that's the biggest size they go up to, so I'm making it work. The fabric also has a little stretch which helps with fit. Interestingly, George (of Fuller Figure Fuller Bust) and I are both wearing size 22s. George and I have completely different body shapes - I carry my weight in my belly and arms and have a broad back and slim legs, George carries hers in her bust, bum and thighs with a slim waist. And yet we are both wearing the same size, which just goes to show how differently clothes can fit depending on your body, and that a dress size doesn't really tell you much.  

The adorable lobster print is obviously the best part. I love how it's a fun take on a nautical theme. This would look really cute with some navy blue to really amp up the seaside vibes. I want to wear it for a day trip to Brighton, or for a super summery barbeque. It's so stand out and fun, which is why I love it.
