Twinkle Twinkle Little Star: Lovedrobe Star Print Skater Dress

While the whole season is filled with sequins, sparkles, faux fur and fanciness - some of my favourite things, of course - I always have something special to wear on actual Christmas day. Christmas is a dress up occasion in our house - an excuse for a new dress (like I need one!) so from Autumn I am on the look out for the perfect dress. And this year this prettiness from Lovedrobe caught my eye early on.

While I want to look a little dressed up on Christmas, I also want to be comfortable so that's my first consideration. The stretch underlayer of this dress is totally comfy while the under bust design means nothing it binding or tight. The tulle layers float over the top giving it a slightly romantic look, and also meaning no tightness (let's be honest, Christmas is a lot about the eating!). I adore the little foil silver star pattern - it's what gives the dress a Christmassy feeling, and means it twinkles beautifully in the light. But it's not so obviously Christmassy that you feel it can only be worn for festive vibes -  I find Lovedrobe comes up quite small, so here I am wearing a 26 (my usual size is a 22/24), so remember to size up! 

I decided to accessorise with a black faux fur shawl - just adding to that overall luxury look, and because it makes a nice change from a cardigan. Plus I can shrug it off when it gets too toasty. I also added these gorgeous purple metallic shoes, for a little colour pop and my #elfie clutch (from last year) because you know I love some silly!
