Folky Festino: Cut For Evans Tiered Denim Dress

The annual Cut for Evans collection is usually pretty exciting. Each year Evans runs a competition for recent fashion graduates to design a catwalk inspired plus size collection. The collections are daring and different and always worth checking out. This year Gabriella Seal won with her festival inspired collection, and I love the boho vibes that these pieces are giving off. You can check out the whole collection here, but I was particularly taken with The Cut Denim Dress.

The dress has a really folky, 70s vibe - which my vintage heart loves - and the denim is perfectly complimented by the trippy original pattern on the (crazily soft) cotton sleeves and bottom frill. The tiered skirt, button through front and collared neck makes gives this dress a cowgirl look just perfect for a festival. I paired this piece with a matching navy vest underneath so I could have a few more buttons undone, an old braided leather belt and my delicious cherry Dr Martens, just giving the whole look a bit more edge. But it would look just as cute with wedges or pumps.

I am always on the look out for casual clothes I love (it doesn't happen very often) but this dress totally nailed it for me. I wanted a kinda loose, casual fit so I sized up to a 24. The softness of the denim and cotton means it's super comfortable. It's also really lightweight. I wore this at a hen do I was at this past weekend and despite spending the day moving about, doing all sorts of mad games and activities, and making and imbibing an indecent amount of cocktails. Totally comfortable and happy the whole time.

All round I'm pretty pleased with this dress, and glad I've found myself another versatile casual piece for summer. To learn more about the collection, go take a look over at the Evans blog to see some super blogger babes wearing Cut for Evans and having a crazy fun weekend at Isle of Wight in these festival ready pieces.

Have you tried Cut for Evans? What's your go to look for festivals and summer vibes? Let me know...

    1. I was a little unsure too, but they are so light it's like you don't have any. But with the coverage! Joys!
