Light My Fire: Ignite Halfy Cup Bra by Scantilly

Since their launch in late 2015, I have been obsessed with Scantilly. The gorgeous, flirty designs are a dream come true for busty girls everywhere, and a product that the plus size market just didn't have before. The team at Scantilly are radiantly body positive, something that shows in their campaigns and their social media - if you're not following them already you really should be - and so it's not just their product that I love, but their ethos as well. Recently the team sent me this gorgeous Ignite half cup bra to review, and it's just as saucy and sultry as I could have hoped.

The Ignite is a half cup bra meaning, well, it has half a cup. So for obvious reasons this bra is made for the boudoir. The design boosts from the bottom while the dual straps form a sort of racer back to give the girls a bit of hoist, basically creating a boob shelf - hello, I am offering my breasts on a lingerie platter! The cups are black and padded, overlaid with a coppery mesh embroidered with lace flowers. The overall design is most pleasing to the eye, although I don't imagine it will be admired for very long when in the bedroom setting (ahem).

I went for my usual 38F (I am the same size in sister brand Curvy Kate), and I must say it is a pretty good fit. To be honest, in some of the pics there is a bit of overspill over the top of the cup but then that's to be expected - this design is a half cup after all. The core fit snuggly against my sternum, and I filled the cups (and then some!). Joyfully, with Scantilly's upcoming range, the back sizes will run up to a 40 which I think I may opt for in future. This design was rather tight across my back, and wouldn't do for day to day wear. While I adore the half cup style - it is so sexy - I think in future I would opt for a balcony or plunge style. My breasts are fuller at the bottom and more empty at the top, so a half cup bra doesn't give me quite the shape I would like, whereas a balcony bra helps to boost the boobs and shift volume, making them appear fuller. Sometimes buying lingerie you love and feel sexy in really is down to understanding your body - knowing what makes you feel good or accentuates what you want accentuated. The wonderful thing about the Scantilly collection is there are loads of opportunities to choose from.

The Ignite half cup bra does also have a matching brief, with some rather risqué peep holes on the bum. Gorgeous, but rather small (I am all about massive, enormous, gargantuan knickers - they make my vintage heart happy) and so not the sort of thing I flash about in on the blog.

What do you think of Scantilly? Have you seen their campaigns? Are you a fan of boudoir lingerie, or are you more practical with your undergarment purchases? Let me know...

  1. This is so pretty! I just wish that they would make their cup sizes a little bigger so that I could squeeze my J-sized boobs into them. You look amazing though, the style of the bra is stunning! x

    1. Yeah, hopefully they make the cup sizes bigger, but the joy of a boudoir bra is it's okay if there's a bit of spillage ;)

  2. Oh this is beautiful ... does it have a different back? If so, then I've been debating it for wearing with backless tops/dresses!

  5. I like your post as I am also very conscious for my lingerie collection. The fabric, size, design and comfort matters a lot to me. So I always shop from Katys Boutique and most of the times I ordered over £40 and got free shipping of my items.
