Dressed in Tess: Studio 8 London Tapework Dress

I'm never able to resist a green dress, and the Tess dress from Studio 8 is a lovely forrest green, that's perfect for this transitional season. It works just as well with bare legs and flats as it will with tights and boots.

I am wearing a size 24 which fits perfectly with plenty of room for my chunky arms (always a worry for me when dresses have sleeves without stretch). The Tess dress sits just above my knees on my 5'8 frame, meaning that for shorter ladies who prefer that just over the knee length this should be perfect. The tapework fabric is a signature style of Studio 8's sisterbrand Phase Eight, and here they've used it subtley so this dress could certainly still be worn to work, but it still gives the pieces something special. And plays into Autumn's love for textured fabrics.

I decided to pair my look with a gold belt (borrowed from another Studio 8 dress in my closet, just to give the waist a little definition), a harness worn underneath the dress for a little bit of edge, and leopard print accessories. Leopard Print is really big for Autumn and has always been a favourite of mine anyway. I think of it as a neutral. To update you wardrobe straight away I would recommend adding a clutch bag or ballet flats to your accessories repetoire (or you can do what I've done and add both).

All in all I think this is an easy to wear look for Autumn, which will work for the office or for drinks after. The dress is on trend without being super trendy, meaning you will be able to get wear out of it year on year. And you can totally change the look of it depening on the accessories - I think this would look great with silver jewelery, a black leather jacket and some black biker boots. Maybe I'll try that next.

Ooh, and you may have noticed that my photography game has really gotten stronger over the last couple of posts... Well that's because I am now having my blog pictures taken by the lovely Kaye of Fordtography when possible. She's brilliant, check her out!

What are you wearing now that Autumn is here? What do you think of the Tess dress? Let me know...
