Parka Life: Studio 8 Naomi Parka

I've never owned a casual coat. Even more ridiculous, despite living in the madly rainy city that is London I've never owned a rain coat. Basically I just wasn't prepared to sacrifice style for staying dry, ha.  But this cosy yet chic Naomi Parka from Studio 8 has me convinced that sometimes comfort is definitely the way to go.

The Naomi Parka has a dark, deep forest green beautifully accented with blonde faux fur trimming the hood. It's a cleverly designed Parka with a removable padded lining that can be zipped out in the warmer weather. One of the reasons I've steered clear of padded Parkas before is I was worried I might end up with that Michelin man look - all puffy and lumpy! But the coat has a really smooth silhouette, and the drawstring pulls you in at the waist.

I'm wearing a size 22 which is a comfortable fit with a vest and light jumper underneath. If you're gonna be wearing a lot of layers however, I would think about sizing up. As I'm usually pretty toasty anyway a warm coat is enough and I don't tend to layer up in the winter so I'm happy with my choice of size 22. I'm wearing it here with the Maddy jeans (a post about how much I love these beauties coming in the near future) and the Beth Batwing top - a light knit perfect for this transitional weather.

The Naomi Parka is effortlessly stylish, in a way that some girls can rock a top knot and some lip gloss and look fresh and fabulous. Despite my protestations to the contrary I am slowly building up a pretty serviceable wardrobe of casual wear. Perhaps this particular leopard can change its spots...

Winter is coming! Have you got a new winter coat? (there's currently £50 off all coats on the Studio 8 website) Got your eye on anything specific? Do you rock a parka in the colder weather? Let me know below...
