What I Wore in October

A bit late this month, because with my holiday (read about what I wore here) and getting back into regular routines again I've been a bit busy! But I love these monthly round up posts (and hope you do too) so decided to still put this one together. October brought with it some proper autumnal weather, and I could feel my palette really change as the weather got cooler. Usually I'm all about riots of colour but for October I was having a full on love affair with black, black and more black. Check out what I wore...

Embroidered Shirt - Boohoo Plus (sold out)

Boohoo really are my new fave reasonably priced brand. I'm quite a bit older than there core demographic, and so not everything they do is necessarily my style, but if you have a regular trawl you will find some wonderful pieces are great prices. I am loving this embroidered chiffon shirt. It's totally comfortable and easy to wear, and works well with jeans of leggings. But I find its always best to size up with Boohoo, as most of their pieces are on the small side. The shirt goes wonderfully with my lush oxblood faux leather jacket from Evans. Perfect for fall, I am all about red and berry tones at the moment and a maroon makes a great alternative to black

Puffball earrings - Asos (sold out)

I am usually raving about the exquisite pieces in Studio 8's occasion wear collections but they do some pretty great casual wear too. I adore the fit of their jeans (full review coming soon) and this batwing jumper is casual and comfy but still a bit glam. Perfect. I made this outfit a little more me by adding some statement puffball earrings. Because, fun!

I told you I was all about the black this month. For a lunch date mid month I paired this Evans plisse tunic with black leggings and a statement necklace (an oldie but a goodie from Primark). I layered up with this Evans' camel coat, made a little bit more glam with a detachable fur collar. The coat is unlined so still quite light, perfect for autumn.

Black Suede Mary Janes - Primark
Puffball Earrings - Asos (sold out)

The little black cats on this gorgeous Katniss dress from Voodoo Vixen seemed perfect in the run up to Halloween. It's currently available in red on the Simply Be website, and you can read my full review here

I'm not usually a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl, but this graphic Slay tee from Boohoo is pretty fabulous. I paired it with my Studio 8 jeans, and this long line cardi, also from Studio 8, in the most yummy wine shade. Casual, comfortable, perfect.

Black Suede Mary Janes - Primark
Red Puffball Earrings - Asos (sold out)

I do not know what took me so long to get this lace wonder from River Island Plus. I have been lusting after it after seeing it on other bloggers for ages and finally took the plunge last month, and I adore it! I bought it in my usual size 22 and it fits like a glove (River Island really have done phenomenonally well on their fit). The underlayer is a bit short on my 5'8 frame, so I'm glad the season of tights is upon us, because without them I have to be very conscious not to show the world my pants!

Ronen Chen Black Maxi dress - Evans
Black duster jacket - Boohoo Plus
Emerald Beads - Charity Shop

And finally... A little more black! I wore this beautiful black maxi dress from Ronen Chen at Evans to a breakfast meeting. Sometimes a simply, beautifully cut black dress is all you need to feel sophisticated and chic. I picked this beauty up on the sale rail in Evans. The Ronen Chen collections are usually quite pricey but totally worth it as easy piece is so beautifully designed and cut. I paired it with a black duster jacket from a previous season at Boohoo and these wonderfully vibrant thrift store beads. Whenever I pass a charity shop I always have a root through their beads - they're usually much more exciting than anything else on the high street and a fraction of the price!

And that concludes my round up of October's outfits. What have you been wearing lately? Let me know lovelies...

  3. I am loving that waterfall jacket, but my fave is the cardigan with the faux fur collar, I need one of those on my Christmas list!

    1. It's more like a coat with no lining than a cardi (the one with the faux fur lining) but so easy to wear!
