Stepping Out In Separates With Marks and Spencer

Y'all know I am usually very much a dresses kinda girl. But lately I am really enjoying separates. I like the mix and match quality, and I absolutely cannot resist a pleated skirt at the moment. So when I was recently asked to pick some pieces from Marks and Spencer, I decided to add some separates into the mix. I am also obsessing about luxe fabrics, and I love the juxtaposition of the faux leather with the satin.

I went for this beautiful forest green faux leather pleated skirt. I already have something really similar in black but I felt the colour gave it a seasonal update and I'm always a sucker for green.  I also think that if you're going for a good quality faux leather then it's going to give you loads of wear, so i wouldn't bother investing in leather for something that's trend led. I'd leave the investment for a staple piece like a leather biker jacket or similar.  I am wearing a size 24, as I always size up in skirts and it fits perfectly, sitting over the knee on my 5'8/9 frame.

I chose a long sleeve satin shirt in mustard with a green graphic print (it is sold out online, but you can find similar here, and I also recently saw they still had stock in my local M&S Croydon, so it's worth having a look in store if you love it as much as I do). Satin is one of those things that can look a bit cheap if it's too shiny, too thin, or done wrong, but this shirt is done so right. It is such a sophisticated look, and is the perfect piece to take from the office to drinks afterwards. I think all I'd do is add some bigger earrings and undo a button!

I decided to accessorise with leopard print, because a) I always love it, b) it's so hot right now, an c) as far as I am concerned it's a neutral that goes with everything. I paired the look with a leopard clutch I bought last year, and some gorgeous leopard heels from Evans that are as stylish as they are comfy!

What's in your fall wardrobe? What Autumnal trends are you living for? What would you like to see more of on here, now that I am back to blogging a little more regularly?
