My Month In Outfits: What I Wore In May

May was a moody month. The weather was all over the place - from promises of a hot, heavy summer, to sudden cold snaps. It definitely kept me on my toes outfit wise! Check out what I wore below...

Sandals - Marks and Spencer (last summer)

Burgundy Pumps - Simply Be (previous season)

Red Polka Dot Dolores Doll Dress - Collectif (not currently available)
Sandals - Marks and Spencer (last summer)

May started off beautifully warm so I cracked out all my bright and cheerful Dolores Doll dresses and got my summer on! Collectif produce a variety of different prints every season, and I have already indulged for Spring. My newest print is the Paint Pot design in blue and pink pictured first. Such a sweet, girly print, I wore this to work (because I couldn't wait for a special occasion!) and it was most well received! This pretty print is also available in blue, green and yellow. I am tempted!

Collectif first did this green version of their Dolores Doll this year. It has a kind of linen finish, and is also available in a pretty powder blue and salmon-y pink. I got mine late last summer and got very little wear out of it before the weather  turned. So I was excited to break it out again as the weather turned warm. I love it here with the lemon yellow cardi from Voodoo Vixen, which is adorned with embroidered strawberries and butterflies. Super summery!

The polka dot Dolores is a Collectif standard (although currently out of stock) and one of those dresses that I think of as a pinup starter dress. As with all my Dolores Doll dresses, it is super comfortable, and great for every day and for dressing up.

Jo Anchor Cardigan - Collectif (currently unavailable)
Leopard Print Vest - Asos Curve (previous season)
Burgundy Motorbike Boots - Evans (previous season)

On the Spring Bank Holiday some friends and I went and spent the day out in the country with the blue bells. The weather was gorgeous, and we spent the day wandering about the national trusts, taking in the bluebells carpeting the woodlands. I decided to go for layers in case of typical English chilliness, and jeans and boots for easy walking. I like finding comfortable, casual outfits that still feel stylish and me.

Back in April I was waxing lyrical about my love for Lyra dresses, and lamenting the fact that they had only ever done one print and I couldn't wait for more printed versions. Then this beauty landed. Navy with beautiful vintage roses in pinks, oranges, peaches and yellows, I love that this Lyra will work year round.

Black cropped cardi - Primark

I am trying to wear few more separates, instead of just sticking to dresses. As the weather turned cooler again, I paired this gorgeous 70s inspired cami with my wonderfully diaphanous tulle skirt and some black leggings and black ankle boots. A bit of different look for me, but I liked it.

Spotted Joe Browns Dress - Bought from Becky's Blog Sale

I bought this little red polka dotted sundress from Becky of Does My Blog Make My Look Fat in her recent blog sale. I have already worn it twice! Once to my brothers, and to Leeds Castle in Kent last Sunday (that gorgeous floral frame is part of the Chelsea Flower Show Fringe, and made for picture perfection!). It just goes to show there are loads of bonuses to being part of a big, beautiful, fabulously fashionable plus size community!

Another new wardrobe staple is this simple but chic black tunic dress from Studio 8. I've worn it twice already this month - once with leggings, and once bare legged. It's so versatile and comfy, but to read more raving check out my blog post.

Belt - Primark

This was my outfit for Curvy Convention, held here in London. I love plus size fashion meet ups - there's always some great fashion spotting, and the chance to push yourself and your boundaries a little more than you would usually. I am going to be doing a full outfit post soon, but just wanted to show you what I wore, and tell you that I felt FABULOUS!

What did you wear in May? What are you going to be wearing in June? Let me know!
