Welcome to the Jungle: Studio 8 Thea Dress

How is it that every season Studio 8 London make the perfect green dress? It's like they have a gift! And incidentally this Thea dress arrived as a little gift for me last week from the lovely lot at Studio 8, and I couldn't wait to get it on my body!

This season's green wonder is a bit more of a casual vibe. I was drawn to the bold palm print of the Thea dress from the moment I saw it at the Studio 8 Spring Summer press preview late last year. In the midst of the wintery darkness it was so bright and fresh! I am still totally in love with this lush tropical pattern - such a modern take on botanical print, and it totally satiates my love of all things green and leafy.

The lovely Studio 8 ladies sent me a size 24. Due to having a big tum, nowadays I am finding that on dresses with straight cut skirts I need to size up to avoid cling - unless the fabric is really thick and smoothing I am not comfortable with body con. The Thea dress in 24 is not clinging in anyway to my tummy, and has a pretty relaxed fit. It is a bit big on the bust, but not in a way that looks ridiculous, so it's still fine to wear.  The neckline is cut in a low deep V, but they have added an inset panel of the same fabric for modesty, and it just makes for a more interesting neckline. The dress sits just above the knee on my 5'8 frame.

While this would be a fabulous and fun dress for work, I decided to opt for a more casual look. I paired the sleeveless dress with my cropped denim jacket, and some chunky copper heels. This is a great date4 outfit, or for an afternoon spent in a pub garden. I also added my tan leather belt at the waist - it contrasts perfectly with the green and matches my tan bag, and cinches me a little giving the dress more shape. All in all I am pretty pleased with this look. What do you think of the way I have styled it for a casual look?

As I mentioned at the beginning, I have a long standing love of green dresses from Studio 8. You can check out my review this lace beauty I wore to my cousin's wedding, and this silk dream I wore to my brother's wedding. Viva red heads in green dresses!
