Ain't Got No Blues: Studio 8 Dita Dress and Priya Jacket

It's been a while since I've shown you a really Hayley, plus size work wear option (not working means I rarely have to even get dressed - hallelujah!) but this look from Studio 8 London is cute and fresh, and almost enough (but not quite) to convince me to get a damn job already!

I tend to opt for the floral, vintage inspired prints most of the time. They're definitely my safe space. But Studio 8 are always pulling out amazing graphic prints, and this modern blue was too good to pass up! The top layer is organza - something I usually associate with shiny curtains and flammable prom dresses from the 90s - but here it's super updated. The white is fresh, and the bright shades of the blue blocks are modern and perfect for Spring when you just need that injection of colour. The Dita dress is a very similar shape to the Imani I have worn before (without the tulle underskirt) and I assumed it would fit the same, so I decided on a 22. While the length is perfect, the fit is pretty snug across the boobs - so if you've got more than your fair share in the breasticle department you might wanna size up.

Lately, I'm falling in love with jackets. I've always been a bit of a cardigan girl - so much so that serious shade has been thrown in my direction for wearing them too much. I'm, whatever girl, bye. However, I am happy to add another later to my wardrobe repertoire, and the addition of this Priya jacket makes takes this day dress to office appropriate instantly. This jacket is going to be a very versatile piece - it immediately smartest things up, plus with its nipped I'm and defined shoulders it really creates a more structured silhouette. Due to my chunky arms I often size up in jackets, and here I'm wearing a 24.

As always I was really impressed with how these garments are made and finished. They're just a step above the usual high street fare, with beautiful fabrics and built to last. What do you think of my spring office look? What are you wearing to work as the weather is getting warmer? Let me know...

  2. This is so lovely on you! The print is gorgeous, I think I'd have picked that over floral too. I love green on red heads, but this blue is every thing on you!

    1. Yeah, blue has always worked on me. I think it's just as great on redheads as green, as long as it's a true blue!
